Insitu joins the Patient Information Forum
Posted on
Insitu has a long track record creating trusted health information for medical professionals. Joining the Patient Information Forum and working to achieve PIF TICK accreditation is the next step on our journey to widen the range of people and organisations that we can help access reliable health information that meets their needs.
At Insitu, our international team of creatives, producers, and scientists build smarter learning experiences for visionary organisations all around the world. We create learning and communication campaigns inspired and driven by end user needs and in support of an organisation’s goals. We’ve built thousands of learning experiences, each one carefully and sensitively regionalised for different local language, market and regulatory needs.
Our work over the last few years has seen us working with medical professionals and patients receiving treatment and care to create online learning resources for a range of medical conditions. We’ve delivered a fresh perspective on preventing sight loss to age related macular degeneration, disease state awareness around glaucoma, orthopaedic instructional videos, and ongoing work exploring the fundamental science of eye health and surgical approaches to vision correction.
At Insitu, we have expertise in research and creating easy to follow learning on complex, often highly technical topics. We can readily use these skills to create a positive impact in society for public facing health information.
What is the Patient Information Forum?
The Patient Information Forum (PIF) promotes access to trusted health information in the UK for patients, carers, the public and healthcare professionals.
PIF represents more than 300 organisations across the NHS, voluntary, academic, freelance and commercial sectors. Our expert guidance on the production of high-quality health information supports an improved healthcare experience for patients and the public.
“Joining PIF and working towards the PIF TICK accreditation is in great alignment with the values and vision for Insitu,” says Paul Newman, Insitu founder. “It takes us to the next level, allowing us to work with many more organisations that demand a thoughtful and high-quality approach to the content and information they need for patients and medical professionals.”
With 58% of healthcare professionals reporting difficulty sourcing reliable health information to share with patients, we know that at Insitu we are well-placed to help out in this area.
Our strong and central focus on creating work that meets end user needs is a natural place of alignment with the PIF requirements for patient centred information.
Working towards PIF TICK accreditation
The PIF TICK is the only UK-wide quality mark for trusted health information. Having the PIF TICK shows health information has been through a professional production process, is evidence-based, and can be trusted by medical professionals and their patients. The quality mark also shows that information has been created with patients’ health literacy, accessibility and cultural needs in mind.
“Working towards PIF TICK lets us continue to build on the strong foundation of high-quality, evidence-based healthcare work that we are already making, and will give a mark of approval that is widely known,” says Martyn Bull, Creative Director at Insitu. “Our strong and central focus on creating work that meets end user needs, is clearly communicated, and thinks about things from the end user point of view is a natural place of alignment with the PIF TICK requirements for patient centred information.”
“Navigating online health information is a challenging prospect if you are searching for reliable, current, evidence-based knowledge that can really help you,” says Eszter Meszaros, Senior Learning Experience Designer at Insitu. “At Insitu, we have expertise in research and creating easy to follow learning on complex, often highly technical topics. We can readily use these skills to create a positive impact in society for public facing health information.”
